I just can't seem to get enough of the tribal print trend that has taken over the fashion scene this summer. Thank goodness this trend is continuing into the Fall. In just the past two days, I have purchased three tribal woven/beaded belts (photos can be found here). Recently, Cobra Society was brought to my attention by a good friend and I instantly fell in love with the beautiful prints. The line by former Stella McCartney intern and Wayzata native Alex Davis launches this month and has already received write-ups in W, Vogue UK, WWD and Elle.
The boots are produced with Kilim fabrics used on the shaft of each boot and are woven by female rug artisans in a Moroccan Village in the Atlas Mountains. The rugs take a month to make and none are exactly alike and therefore no boot is either! The boots are then completed in Spain where the sole is hand sewn so that it naturally molds to the foot in a construction called Good Year Welt.
Cobra Society boots are sold at net-a-porter.com and can be found in select boutiques worldwide. In Minnesota, you can find these beautiful boots at Pumpz & Co. in the Galleria or stop by the Trunk Show at International Market Square this Monday. I can't wait to see these boots in person!
