The 83rd Academy Awards

To say the Oscars were a bit of a dissapointment would be a understatement. I was really interested to see how the Hathaway/Franco co-hosting situation would go. I am not a huge fan of Anne Hathaway and therefore didn't expect much out of her. Sadly, she outshined James Franco by far. I don't know what was going on with him last night but he didn't act like himself at all-maybe it was the nerves from hosting or being nominated for best actor (probably both). Either way, he looked stiff and robitic. Really too bad since he is such a great actor! As for the winners, for the most part I think the statues when home with the right people (except for Helena Bonham Carter--Oh well!).

Now on to my favorite part of any award show, the fashion. First off, my best dressed picks of the night. Tied for first are most definitely Cate Blanchett and Mila Kunis. I absolutely loved both of these couture gowns on the runway and think they translated beautifully for the red carpet. Cate was her usual fashion forward self in Givenchy and Mila looked beautiful in Elie Saab.

Florence Welch has quickly become on of my favorite people to see on the red carpet. She is a true individual and always manages to find gowns that fit her personality without going overboard for the occasion. For the Oscars, she selected a lovely Valentino Haute Couture gown.
Anne Hathaway didn't look so bad herself. Here are the three outfits I felt she looked best in on stage.

Custom Tux by Lanvin

Givenchy Haute Couture

Giorgio Armani Privé

Not one to leave out the guys, I thought these two looked great last night.
