To Whose Wedding Would You Rather Go: Kate Moss’s or Charlene Wittstock’s?

Reports of Kate Moss's upcoming wedding waffled between two dates for the official ceremony: this Friday, July 1, or this Saturday, July 2. Apparently the wedding was originally scheduled for July 2, but Kate had to change it because that's when Charlene Wittstock is marrying the Prince of Monaco, in a wedding that will also take three days. They have many overlapping guests, you see, such as Naomi Campbell and Topshop chief Sir Philip Green, who are missing the last two days of Moss's party to go to Charlene's princess wedding.

Now, say Moss didn't move her wedding. Say she and Charlene really were getting married on the same day. Now, say you were someone of importance, like Naomi or Karl Lagerfeld, and had invitations to both and had to choose between the two: Which one would you go to? Each will be extravagant, but in entirely different ways. Kate's is supposedly modeled after a music festival, and will have Kanye West and Snoop Dogg performing, while Charlene's ought to be full of perfect pretty, pretty princess moments, though there will be more pressure for guests to behave themselves there, not only because it's "that kind" of affair but also because pictures of some of it, at least, are going to come out. So are you putting on your pastels, packing Shout wipes, and going to Charlene's — or hiking up your dress, packing Visine, and going to Kate's?

Versace for H&M

The highlight of the Versace men's show at Milan Men's Fashion Week yesterday was not the striped booty shorts or pink suits, it was Donatella — but isn't she always the highlight, in a way? — taking her bow at the end wearing a Versace for H&M dress. Versace is the next big-name designer doing a line for the affordable chain, even though Donatella said in 2008 that she respects designers who do these lines but didn't want to do one herself "because I work very hard to put the Versace line in the luxury section. I think to put the Versace line in H&M would confuse the brand." Perhaps to avoid confusion, H&M is billing the line as an "Iconic Collection." Goes great with whatever deal she presumably struck to have the CFDA's 2011 Fashion Icon, Lady Gaga, wear only Versace for the next couple of months.

The collection will be big and include two rollouts, one on November 17 including men's, women's, and homewear, and another prespring collection on January 19. The line consists of "iconic" archive Versace pieces repurposed for H&M. More from H&M's press release:

The womenswear collection will be dominated by dresses that express the spirit of the season, featuring studded leather, silk and colorful prints, and accessories including high heels and costume jewelry. The men’s collection will focus on sharp tailoring, including the perfect tuxedo, as well as belts and jewelry for men. For the first time in a designer collaboration at H&M, the collection will include homeware pieces including pillows and bedspread.


H&M has not released any specific information on pricing, but that studded leather dress will not be H&M cheap. Versace cheap maybe, but not H&M cheap. So, who's excited? Watch Donatella and H&M's creative adviser Margareta van den Bosch discuss the collection in the video. Pretend like they didn't misspell Donatella's name Donnatella (maybe they just want a little more of her, like we all do).

Beautiful video directed by Todd Cole and staring Elle Fanning wearing the Rodarte Spring 2011 collection. Probably one of my favorite collections of that season and this is a gorgeous way of showcasing each piece.

Tonight I will be attending the launch of Gina Marie Vintage The inpsiration behind the line is that it's classically designed, vintage-inspired pieces meant to be worn for a lifetime. It's so wonderful to have a designer from MN execute minimalism so well. I can't wait to get my hands on the bellbottom pants (pictured below).
