The Gap...European Style

Valentino's collaboration with the Gap will be released this Friday in Europe. Can you say jealous?! I really want the jacket to the far left.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

The holiday windows were revealed this past weekend at Bergdorf Goodman's on 5th avenue in New York. Every year I am continually blown away by the design and creativity that shines through these amazing sets. This year's theme is appropriately titled "Wish you were here" and created completely in-house by David Hoey, Bergdorf’s director of visual presentation and his talented visual team. My personal favorite is the train window. Check out the windows in more detail at Bergdorf's blog.

This reveal has me dying for a copy of the yet to be released "Windows at Bergdorf Goodman" book published by Assouline.

What is this...Velvet?!

I don't know about the rest of you but I am definitely going through a velvet obsession. I want anything and everything in this gorgeous fabric and one of the best options out there is the velvet leggings at the Gap.

I purchased these on Monday and haven't taken them off since. They are a refreshing new take on an otherwise boring, overplayed trend. Better run to your nearest Gap store quick if you want these. They sold out almost completely in less than a week online. Madewell (the baby sister store to J.Crew) offers a great option with zippers too.

I posted some of my other velvet favorites below.

Welcome to the Doll House

Grace Coddington & Anna Wintour from Vogue

I have never been much of a fan of dolls but when I had the pleasure of viewing Andrew Yang's beautiful "Kouklitas" (which is Greek for Doll) at Fashion's Night Out in NYC this past September, he has forever changed my mind. These gorgeous one-of-a-kind dolls have been modeled after celebrities (Lady Gaga), fashion editors, and runway looks. They make me wish I had $1,350 just lying around to start a doll collection.

Yang is an amazing talent and I look forward to seeing more from him in the coming years. Check out his website if you would like to see more.

Final Hours

Tomorrow morning, select H&M stores will have customers lining up around the block to get their hands on the new Lanvin Heart's H&M collection. Alber Elbez is one of my all time favorite designers and I am heartbroken that there will be no stores in MN or WI that will be carrying this collection, otherwise I would be waiting in line right now. Stars like Madonna, Natalie Portman and Jennifer Lopez have requested items, according to H&M, and fashion editors are swooning. See all the details of the celebrity runway premiere here.

Check this video showcasing the beautiful clothes.

Here are some of the looks I love:

The men's collection is pretty amazing too. Love this two tone blazer!

Closet Shopping

I have to admit, celebrity sightings and gossip magazines don't excite me much. I could truly care less about who a celebrity is dating or where they ate for lunch but when it comes to fashion, I can't take my eyes off them. When I heard about the new project that Google launched this Wednesday called boutique.com, I could hardly contain my joy. The concept is that anyone can create their own boutique, including celebrities. Others are then able to view and follow you-just like twitter. It gives you the virtual opportunity to walk into a celebrities closet and see what they have.

If you decide to set up your own boutique, it first asks you to do a quick survey, showing you two outfits and you pick the one you like best. Then after answering several of these, it pops out what it thinks your style is: Classic, Romantic, Casual Chic, Edgy, Street, or Boho. Then the rest is up to you to decide what you love and hate from the suggestions the site gives you. It's really a personalized shopping experience that enables you to discover fashion based on your own personal taste.

I think I have found my new time waster. Follow me if you join!

I also picked up this book at my local Urban Outfitters this past week and it is a beautiful photographic history of Mcqueen's life work. Definitely worth the $30!

Welcome

This blog is dedicated to all things fashion and whatever else that inspires and excite me at the moment. Enjoy!
